It
is during this conversation that the QbPowerGROUP© must be able to
identify, describe, and number the problem (as a task), then classify it as:
QbPowerGROUP© Task Classification:
- QB Training and
Support (Front End) qbAdvisor
- Computer Hardware and
Networking qbNetworking
- Programming/Workflow/Conversion(Web/LAN)
qbDevelopment
- QB Balancing and
Auditing (Accounting) qbAccounting
- Other – out of the
QbPowerGROUP© scope NONqb
If any of the Tasks are
classified 1-3 then the following project class assignment is determined:
Small Project
Give an Estimate Verbal, follow up in email format.
Normally 1-5 hours.
Medium/Large Project
Agree to do a Survey, see below.
Create a Pre
Survey Scope Document and Invoice.
Out of our Direct Scope
If any of the Tasks are classified 4-5 then they are out of our main
directives, we will give the owner a referral name, if we have one for the
task and area.
Pre Survey Scope
Document and Invoice
If the owner and
QbPowerGROUP© believe that the task can be defined, estimated, designed, and
solved, an on site appointment or web conference / phone meeting is set. A
Survey Invoice and Pre Survey Scope Document are created, and approved by
the owner prior to the meeting.
The “pains” are then
clearly listed in the Pre Survey Scope document giving our understanding of
the detail.
Any estimate we might give
at this point is based on, and only on, these items and is an estimate of
how long it will take and the consequent cost of the in depth survey below.
We require payment when we arrive on site to start the Survey or prior to
starting the web meeting.
Project Survey
Report:
Before doing any
programming or fixing, a preliminary, in depth analysis of the customer
problems, procedures, business flow, related input / source documents, data
structure, et al. as established in SCOPE.
The idea is to gather all
data (and qb datafiles, xls, mdb, etc) necessary to solve the problem.
We then put this together
into a Survey Report detailing the problem, data and proposed solution. This
will include either quotes or estimates of time and cost by line. This
allows the customer to see what each aspect of his job will cost so he can
prioritize or cancel certain parts of the job. This document is studied,
modified and signed off by the customer before any work is done. This saves
a lot of time and cost because we're only dealing with very important,
ruinous, problems that really have the customer's interest, that he is happy
to pay for and approves in writing.
We don't start without
knowing exactly what our customers want. This technical SURVEY is valuable
document to the customer and is a billed service costing between $375-995,
based on the number of tasks and scope of these tasks.
The Survey Report is a
valuable final product in and of itself as it clearly states and solves what
the customer most wants solved.
The owner can even submit
this survey to other solution providers if they want to.
The Survey report will list
solutions by category:
Business Tune up (qbAdvisor):
Depending on the customer
and their problems, a preliminary step may be to send a senior consultant
(CPA / MBA / Tax Accountant / QB Advisor / Consultant) to get an in depth
look at the company, their business practices, the solutions they've
implemented to solve problems. This is because they may simply be using
QuickBooks wrong, have major flaws in their way of doing business or are
unorganized in some other correctable way.
$649/half day
QB End User and
Accounting Hourly consulting:
It may take hourly
consulting by this top level consultant: $195/hr
QB Expert Advice by
the MINUTE:
Sometimes their problems
can be solved by expert phone consultation on a credit card. @ $1.95/minute
QB Modifications:
If the customer knows the
problem, follows sound accounting practices and IS using QuickBooks
correctly, it may only require programming and analysis for the specific
details approved on the survey. This is done on an hourly basis: $117.00/hr
- $145.00/hr depending on project size. |
